The Perfect Nude Lip

Okay, first of all, can we just talk about how perfect the lighting was when I took these pictures. (I'm sorry, I had to say it...)

But anyways, right now as you're reading this post, I'm in surgery (how dramatic) but it's a routine operation so I've scheduled posts for the next few weeks so that I don't abandon you lovely lot or force myself to write incoherent posts that don't make sense.

Alas, back to the post subject. The perfect nude lip.

For a person who owns close to fifty lipsticks, it astounded myself that they're either red or nude so I decided to share some of my favourite nude lipsticks. Because I have a cooler skin tone (yellow undertones), I tend to go for brown nudes or pink - peach just makes me look ill. It was incredibly hard narrowing down to three lipsticks and a lip pencil but I hope you enjoy!

My ultimate nude at the moment is from KIKO's latest Romantics collection and the packaging is simply divine. The rose gold instantly lured me in so I wasn't actually fussed with the type of lipstick, I just wanted the tube. This is shade number 1 of their Intensely Lavish Lipstick and it is the perfect nude. A very "your lips but better" type colour that looks so classy in its packaging. The formula is very creamy but not shiny on your lips so it lasts really well. It's a little well known fact that Kiko cosmetics are made in the same factory as MAC so the quality is seriously good for a fraction of the price.

Another lipstick that is very new to my collection is a MAC classic, MAC Snob. This is probably the most pink nude in my collection  - it's so pigmented that I only need a swipe or can risk looking like I was trying to emulate Barbie. The consistency is very creamy and it looks incredible with a more natural makeup look. It looks best with a tan so if you're paler, then you might want to test it in a store first.

And the final lipstick from my nude choices is a budget friendly option and an apparent dupe for the NARS lip pencils - Maybelline's Color Drama in Minimalist. This is essentially a pared down version of snob - far more natural and easy for days where you want something on your lips but nothing too bright.

My lip pencil choice for my nude edit is a slightly pricier MAC Strip Down. It's a very 90s inspired Kylie Jenner esque colour but looks incredible with a smoky eye and just adds an edge - perfect paired with a leather jacket. If MAC is a bit expensive for you, I'm obsessed with Rimmel's Lipliner in Spice and East End Snob - East End Snob being a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk. I wear this lipliner on it's own as it has a great matte finish and lasts all day.

The Berry Edit: Getting Lippy

I love a bit of colour and over these past few months, I've become a bit of a lip product fiend - something I didn't realise until I had to pack them all up to move to university! I love the diversity in products you can now get so I decided to compile my latest loves and the ones I'll be wearing whilst the leaves remain brown.

Lip crayons are definitely some of the easiest products to wear as no lip liner is required and they're often moisturising which is something I've found with the NV Colour Chunky Crayon in Spiced Plum*. The colour instantly makes me think of chrismas and the deep purple is definitely something I'll be wearing on nights out. Revlon have made a name for themselves with their various crayons and a really nice brown hued colour is Adore as part of their Just Bitten Kissable range. The colour is really lovely and natural - perfect for days when you don't want to wear much makeup. I've also been liking the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur Femme Fatale. The colour is more on the orange spectrum but is subtle enough that you don't have to forgo your eye makeup when using - the colour builds really well as well.

One of the latest beauty blogger hypes is the Bourjois Paris Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks which apply like lipgloss but dry matte - they're incredibly pigmented and last forever. I own Ole Flamingo which is a bright pink with red undertones and Peach Club which is a peach (obviously) natural shade but matte enough to show you're wearing lippy. Both are some of the best matte lipsticks I've tried, and they don't go funny when you touch them up should you need to. Barry M has also released a cracking colour which unfortunately doesn't have a name but is LPS3*. It's a lovely yet quite basic pink. Your bog standard lipstick.

But my favourite berry hued lipsticks are Topshop Lips in Hazard, Collection's Little Mix in Jesy and a Sephora one in Rouge. All three are my current go to colours and are all equally moisturising. However, I do wear them all with lipliner and a Lip sealer as theres nothing pretty about leaving lipstick prints on coffee cups or glasses. Trust me. I've been using Lipcote and it honestly is brilliant - it mattifiess the lips slightly but is otherwise ace.

What are your go to colours for autumn?

Confessions of a Shopaholic: Beauty Edition

Hello lovelies,

About a week ago, my family and I took off for a whirlwind trip around Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and unlike Brunei, KL had much more to offer shopping wise!

So basically, everyday involved us visiting some sort of mall, whether it be big, small or just plain fancy. However, this did cause an unfortunate rapid deterioration in my bank account! Although, I do have some purchases that I am in love with at the moment!

[Topshop makeup- Isn't the packaging so pretty?]

[I love the scarlet hue of 'Hazard' and the subtle tone to 'Rumour Has It']

[Sheer lip glosses from Forever 21]

[Basic full-sized Tweezerman tweezers. The best tweezers in the world]

[Revlon lipstick in Blush and mascara in Sexy Curves; Full Figure. The lipstick actually smells really nice, it's like scented!]

[I am addicted to Baby Lips by Maybelline and am on a mission to collect them all! They honestly do work!]

[I know these are accessories, but I caught them in a sale and the designs are actually so precious and classy]

[Victoria's Secret body sprays all smell phenomenal to say the least, and these two are my current favourites!]

Of course, I did buy different things as well as makeup, but that will have to be another post!

Summer Lips

Garnetfrost Lipstick by Mary Kay
Pink Orchid Lipstick by Mary Kay
Red Drama Longlasting Lipstick by Clinque

Pink Fruity Lasting Fix Lipgloss by 17

Glamshine Angel Sparkle Lipstick by Clinque
Tea Time Tan Lipstick by Mary Kay
Toffee Waffle Lasting Fix Lipstick by 17

Mango & Papaya glossy lip balm by I love...
Mediterranean grape olive & nectarine Moistering Lip Butter by Boots
Lemon Citrus and Strawberry by LipIce

These are all my favourite looks for summer both day and night. Usually I can't be bothered watching my lipstick so I rarely wear it but I always wear lipbalm of some sort. LipIce lipbalm makes your lips tingle which is amazing! But the Boots lip butter is amazingly moisturising so is also one of my favourite.
My ultimate favourite lipstick is Red Drama by Clinque as I love the deep scarlet colour. However, if I was just going out for the day, I wear either Tea time Tan or Angel sparkle because they are really subtle.

I know this post is really short but there are a lot of photos so I hope it's acceptable :)
