Festival Fashion: Glastonbury Day 1

Summer appears to be fast gaining upon us and as the season becomes more apparent, so does the commonality of festivals; one in particular being Glastonbury.

Glastonbury has almost certainly become one of the biggest 'alternative' music festivals worldwide and is renowned for it's mud and fantastic music. The music lover within me was more than a little jealous of all those who have attended the festival as the lineup is simply fantastic but at least in this day and age, the performances are bound to be up on Youtube by the end of the week.

Festivals such as Coachella, Radio 1's Big Weekend and the Isle of Wight Festival have all made headlines for the wacky persona many attendees tend to take on but none compare to Glastonbury where fashion takes on a more boho hippy vibe.

Glastonbury has become a renowned hang out for many a celebrity and as expected, they turned out in full force decked out in attire that could only be described as suitable for Woodstock; alas it is all part of the experience.

My favourite outfit has to have been Millie Mackintosh's who did not take hippy to the extreme as Vanessa Hudgens did in Coachella, still reigning onto her typically classy style whilst remaining entirely appropriate for the occasion.

What are some of your favourite outfits so far?

Ellie Update: Multiculturalism

[My brother and I in colour coded Baju's]

Today was international day at my school and it most definitely has to be one of the most colourful days of the year!
The wide variety of costumes that students would wear, really did reflect the cosmopolitan image of the school. I am so fortunate to be attending the school that I am and today only reconfirmed that!

Most of the countries that we all live in are becoming increasingly more cosmopolitan and are exposing us to a huge range of cultural aspects of various nationalities. This is an ethos that my school strives to present to the students; a key aspect of attending an international school.

For the day, my family dressed up in our take on traditional Malay attire with my mum and I wearing Baju Kebayas and my dad and brother wearing Baju Melayu.

Festival Fashion Style Idol: Millie Mackintosh

Made in Chelsea is one of my favourite shows and Millie Mackintosh is definitely my favourite character!
I absolutely adore everything she does and love her fashion sense. Recently, the tabloids have been full of her festival exploits and her outfits of choice, I decided to compile a post which includes my favourite festival looks of hers.
*Note* Not all outfits are from 2012*

Making dressing for downpours and mud-soaked fields look like a walk in the park, Millie has nailed festival style.

Key to her look? Non-try-hard pieces like denim shorts and classic Hunter wellies – with a little bit of Chelsea bling in the form of silver studs – and the finishing touch, an amazing statement jacket. What, no cag in a bag? As if!

Here, Millie completely embodies rocker festival chic with a teeny tiny pair of denim shorts, a purple gilet, aviator sunglasses, studded hunter wellies and a trilby hat.
