For all you American readers (if I have any) we don't have Sephora in the UK and whilst it's fairly common in the USA, it's very much an exiting moment whenever I spot that black and white sign. So on the way back from visiting my parents, I had a 10 hour stop over in KL so when the opportunity to visit Sephora arose, I jumped at the chance.
Because I'm annoyingly organised, I had written a list and researched the things I wanted to avoid the inevitable blank that would hit when I was faced with every beauty product imaginable. The first thing on that list was the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask which I've read rave reviews of and have been desperate to try for quite a while! I've included it in my Spot Busting Post because it works wonders on distressed skin and really helps to calm down any redness.
Then was a product that was making waves last summer but as per usual, I'm a bit late to the bandwagon but it's the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara which is so lovely! It's not particularly overly volumising nor does it makes my lashes clumpy but it definitely makes them more noticeable and is the perfect everyday wearable mascara.
Now that Summer is on the horizon, I've been reaching for lighter bases (post to come!) and to add a touch extra dewiness, I've been loving highlighters! One of them is The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer which is a gorgeous champagne shimmery colour which adds a touch extra to my skin and helps make my fair complexion slightly more glowy.
I have an addiction to lip balm so it was a no brainer that I had Fresh Sugar Lip Therapy on my list. Not only is the metal packaging gorgeous but I've been using it for a good week and my lips feel so much softer! It smells like lemon sherbets so is definitely an added plus in my books.
While we're on lips, I would feel like a failure of a beauty blogger if I didn't pick up a Sephora Matte Lip Cream. The only bold colour left was Strawberry Kisses which is a slightly pinky red but I love it - definitely more wearable than a bright red!
I love champagne eyeshadows and have far too many so I 'accidentally' found myself picking up the Sephora Waterproof 16hr Velvet Eyeshadow in Sweet Champagne 03 which is my new favourite colour. It's a warm toned champagne that adds an incredible shimmer and acts as a great base. I've been wearing it all over my lid with a matte brown in the outer corner and crease which definitely makes it an everyday colour.
Baked shadows and blushes are huge at the moment and when I spotted the NYX Baked Shadow in Belle it made me far too excited. It's (yet again) a champagne colour but is less pigmented than the Velvet eyeshadow. Definitely a subtler colour. I'll come back to you on it's lasting power. (P.S this isn't photographed but try and get your hands on the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso which I've been wearing daily and is divine)
