Getting Nakd

Healthy eating is everywhere at the moment and particularly plant based diets. With the rise of healthy instagrams and blogs such as DeliciouslyElla and Hemsley & Hemsley, it's back in the spotlight and you can't log onto instagram without seeing avocado on toast!

So recently I've been adapting to a more plantbased diet but as someone with the occasion sweet tooth, it's important to have snacks in the house that won't prevent you from falling off the bandwagon.

I'm very much of the belief that fruit sugars are jam packed full of goodness which is why Nakd bars are some of my favourites. About a year ago, Nakd bars were tough to find (aside from Holland&Barrett) but now they're everywhere and easy to get a hold of. They're made up of a base of dates and dependent on the specific flavour, cashews etc. But essentially, they're fruit and nut based. Completely gluten free, lactose free and full of energy.

Dates are a well known source of energy and I almost always keep a bar or too in my bag. The flavours are incredible and my favourites include Cherry Bakewell, Strawberry Crunch and Cocoa Orange. If you've never tried them before, you can get a variety of these healthy cereal bars from Natural Balance Foods for a reasonable price. It's a great way of trying them all without having to buy a box of each!

Style Steals: Designer Handbags

There is no arguing that handbags are often excessively expensive and the question must be asked whether we are buying them for the brand or the actual design; I am certainly guilty of wanting the image that a brand provides rather than the bag itself so what better than finding bags that are near identical for a fraction of the price!

The Mulberry Bayswater bag is an absolute classic and with it costing £895, it is hardly affordable for those not on massive salaries, there are alternative options including the Ladies Womens handbag tote which is an exact dupe for
£10 (plus shipping).

Of course, due to the significant price different, it is likely that the material of the similar will be significantly lesser than the Mulberry but with constantly changing styles and trends, who cares if your bag isn't perfect; the image created is the same.

Similarly is the case with the Givenchy Antigonia tote that is without a doubt, fully on trend and a near perfect classy tote bag that is large enough to fit whatever you deem necessary to carry around on a daily basis, but alas the £1584 price tag is enough to deter even the most fashion savy buyer; a problem I am faced on a near daily basis.

However, when in Primark the other day, I stumbled across a bag so similar that it was definitely worth the £12 price tag which is rather pricey for the department store. One thing I face whilst venturing into Primark is the low quality of some products but alas this tote bag is very well made, well lined and gold detailing in the zips (internal and external).

Going Rogue

[Are You Red-dy by Maybelline]

[Hazard by Topshop]

[Hot Tango by Sephora]

[Red Drama by Clinque]

Red lipstick has always been a classic must have in any girls makeup bag as it can be worn day or night dependent on the shade. I personally own 4 different shades of red lipstick from various brands and they range from the orange spectrum to the purple spectrum. My favourite shades for the day have to be Hot Tango by Topshop and Are you Red-dy by Maybelline and my favourite shade for the evening is Red Drama by Clinque. Although some people may be worried about wearing red lipstick, everyone and anyone can wear it as there are so many different shades. BUT, make sure that you are very careful about choosing the correct colour, I would even recommend consulting with a makeup artist to the first colour that you should get. It may sound odd, but there is nothing worse than seeing someone wear the wrong lipstick.

Thai Designers Fashion Feature: Disaya

Disaya's latest pre-Spring/Summer 2013 collection is simply divine and her theme of 'Merry-Goes-Around' is really reflected in the designs.

I love the flirty style of the dresses especially the colour scheme. The outfits are just so cute and perfect for everyday!
Once again, the simplicity of the designs and the little details have created a collection that should be in the next W (hopefully we'll see this in soon)!

I am sorry to say that this will be my last featured Thai designer!

Thai Designers Fashion Feature: Vickteerut

Vickteerut is a Thai designer that I am absolutely in love with. Contrary to many designers, he does not follow the latest 'fashion' but designs for the people.

Similar to Thakoon, Vickteerut embodies feminity and uses simplistic designs that enhance the curves of the female body.
As an individual, I believe that Vickteerut's latest collection really reiterates Thai street style through the use of flirty outfits.

I adore the use of chiffon which makes some of his shorter ensembles more decent which makes them appeal to a wider audience.

I sincerely hope that Vickteerut is noticed soon as his designs are simply stunning.

Thai Designers Fashion Feature: Moo Eyewear

Moo Piyasomnatku is a quickly rising Thai designer. She specialises in eyewear with a unique twist.

Her recent NOIR Baroque collection has provided a much needed breath of fresh air to the fashion circuit as her statement designs are not for the faint at heart.

Celebrities such as Lady Gaga are fans of the quirky designs which has made her quickly rise to success.

You can have a look at her designs here.

Thai Designers Fashion Feature: Thakoon

Thakoon Panichgul is one of the most famous Thai designers. Having moved to the USA at the age of eleven he was exposed to a wide variety of designs. He attended and graduated from Parsons School of Design and in 2004 he produced his first ready-to-wear collection.

His latest Resort 2013 collection entwines feminity and striking designs to create a fun and flirty collection that can be worn by almost anyone!

A common trend amongst all his pieces is how simple they are but with the right material, the designs come to life.
The numerous amounts of dresses really add to the feminity as does the frequented V-neck designs.

There is a frequented use of vertical stripes which adds another dimension to the simple designs.

One thing which is relatively obvious is the lack of tight fitting outfits. This is unusual as recently there has been a prominent trend of skin tight lycra clothing.

Overall, Thakoon's latest collection is a breath of fresh air providing women all over the world with the opportunity to dress in florals and pastels.
Thakoon's simple yet elegant and sophisticated collection is a must see for everyone.
His designs are timelessly feminine and as romantic and sensual as they are modern and innovative.

Style Idol: Whitney Port

Whitney Port has such amazing style that I felt that I should write a post about her.
She has a unique boho style which is so simple yet put together.
Below are some of my favourite looks:

I really love her in all outfits above as she looks simply gorgeous. My favourite look of hers is with the blue shirt and beige trousers. It is such a simple outfit yet she really adds something to it making it more sophisticated and glamourous.

Festival Fashion Style Idol: Millie Mackintosh

Made in Chelsea is one of my favourite shows and Millie Mackintosh is definitely my favourite character!
I absolutely adore everything she does and love her fashion sense. Recently, the tabloids have been full of her festival exploits and her outfits of choice, I decided to compile a post which includes my favourite festival looks of hers.
*Note* Not all outfits are from 2012*

Making dressing for downpours and mud-soaked fields look like a walk in the park, Millie has nailed festival style.

Key to her look? Non-try-hard pieces like denim shorts and classic Hunter wellies – with a little bit of Chelsea bling in the form of silver studs – and the finishing touch, an amazing statement jacket. What, no cag in a bag? As if!

Here, Millie completely embodies rocker festival chic with a teeny tiny pair of denim shorts, a purple gilet, aviator sunglasses, studded hunter wellies and a trilby hat.

Outfit of the Day: Mountain Fashion

I do apologise that I have been unable to post many outfit of the days with me in the image, but I promise to post more this holiday!
Here is my outfit for today, I am wearing a maxi dress with a loose over shirt.

The shirt is from Forever 21 and the maxi dress is from Shout!.
The shirt is so light and airy even though it is long sleeved and the maxi dress, although it is elasticated lycra,is really cooling and floaty; altogether the ideal summer outfit!
