Autumn Wish List - Bags

A prominent trend as seen in recent fashion shows has been satchel bags and mini backpacks which has once again ignited a desire to spend my entire bank balance on bags that I can neither afford nor will use sufficiently - alas is the problem of a student.

But the price of such designer bags cannot stop me from wanting them, so I compiled a short wishlist which really should be titled "Things I shall never own but want all the same".

I have been in love with Mulberry for as long as I can remember seeing their Bayswater purse adorning the arm of a beloved celebrity and needless to say that their newest collection has really tested the strength of my purse strings. The Del Rey (2.) - inspired by indie musical sweetheart Lana Del Rey - is a favourite as it remains so classic and simple, a difference to its Alexa bag (of which I constantly lust after). The Effie satchel (3.) is another everyday bag that I wish belonged in my wardrobe, alas it doesn't and unfortunately nor does the H&M similar that sold out within a matter of weeks. I had my chance and missed it, but that is the luck of the draw.

Now, I keep banging on about the new Punk trend and along with that is the common appearance of mini backpacks - a throwback from the late 90's, early 2000 where I'm almost certain that my 5 year old self had a couple as well as her barbies. One of the main reasons why I don't have the affordable Mini Patent Backpack from Topshop (5.) - a dead ringer for the far less affordable Chanel bag - is that I wouldn't use it. I unfortunately have not used a backpack since I completed my Duke of Edinburgh award and doubt that I shall ever need one again, (I believe a round of applause is necessary for my self control here).

What is your favourite bag of the season?

Autumn Wish List - Chunky Boots

Along with the punk trend has come chunky boots which are a personal favourite of mine - especially ones with the now coveted buckle.

Heeled boots in general have been a favourite simply because of the ability to give the appearance of toned legs as well as boosting my height a couple of inches without my feet losing circulation such as is the effect of many stilettos.

But thick heeled boots are back with a vengeance, a particular common trend being a spin on the classically more masculine Chelsea boots.

These shoes add a much needed rock flair to even the simplest of outfits and allows you to go along with the punk trend despite a lack of grunge and tartan.

My personal favourites are the Nappa Chunky Heels from Zara (4) which are similar to the discontinued Topshop Aftershocks and are definitely unique with their white sole - my only qualm being the likely dirtying of the sole!

Alas, the Kurt Geiger Tamara Biker Boots (1) are absolutely perfect for cold nippy days and the quilted look alongside the buckle adds a dimension that the other ankle boots don't.

Winter WishList - Beauty

So during one of my copious internet vegging out sessions, I came across a Vogue UK tweet about a christmas wish list for perfume, so I decided to do something similar but beauty and fragrances!

Left to right: Pure Zen,  Scarlet Ibis,  Love Goddess,  Charmed I'm Sure,  and Deeply Adored.

Impossibly sweet and Pink Fade from MAC's holiday collection.

Nars Illuminator in Copacabana

Surprisingly this year, I haven't come across many beauty products that make me want to spend all my money on, so being requested to compile such a list was quite tricky, but here are several things that will definitely be on the top of my shopping list when I move back to the UK!

I'm not sure if you can still find lipstick from the Marilyn Monroe collection at MAC at the official store, but I'm sure there are some companies out there with it. I adore red lipstick and the Marilyn Monroe collection houses lipsticks from the orange spectrum to the blue; providing a full range of shades. If I had to choose a single one, it would have to be Deeply Adored as it is more my colouring so I would be more likely to wear it on a regular basis!
The Volum' Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Mascara by Maybelline has been on my wishlist for quite sometime, not because of its price but simply because I forget to get it when I'm at a drugstore! I am already a huge Maybelline mascara fan and currently use the Colossal Express but am in dire need of a new one!
Champs-Elysees by Guerlain has to be one of my favourite perfumes alongside Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Both scents are not overpowering or sweet but provide subtle floral undertones that smell amazing. It is such a classic fragrance that will never go out of style and the price is fairly reasonable for the branding and quality of the scent.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor has been recommended by numerous people especially those who share my unruly locks. I have been searching in desperation for any deep conditioner that will not thrust millions of artificial chemicals onto my head, but will still do its job and leave me tangle free! Hopefully, Aussie will help.
Pink Fade and Impossibly Sweet lipglass by MAC for their holiday collection are two lip glosses that I need. Not really, but I love them. What I love about MAC is that their lipglass' are so pigmented that they might as well be called glittery lipstick! However, the texture of them is what automatically has me heading for the MAC counter, they are not overly sticky but are quite light whilst still providing beautiful coverage!
Nars Illuminator in Copacabana has been recommended by almost every beauty guru on the net, I used to use tinted moisturiser or white eyeshadow or MAC lustre drops but I am willing to give this illuminator a shot. Although many do say that illuminators are unnecessary and a waste of money, they help to add another dimension especially if the person in question does not possess a strong brow or cheek bone. I hope Nars lives up to my expectations!
