Okay, first of all, can we just talk about how perfect the lighting was when I took these pictures. (I'm sorry, I had to say it...)
But anyways, right now as you're reading this post, I'm in surgery (how dramatic) but it's a routine operation so I've scheduled posts for the next few weeks so that I don't abandon you lovely lot or force myself to write incoherent posts that don't make sense.
Alas, back to the post subject. The perfect nude lip.
For a person who owns close to fifty lipsticks, it astounded myself that they're either red or nude so I decided to share some of my favourite nude lipsticks. Because I have a cooler skin tone (yellow undertones), I tend to go for brown nudes or pink - peach just makes me look ill. It was incredibly hard narrowing down to three lipsticks and a lip pencil but I hope you enjoy!
My ultimate nude at the moment is from KIKO's latest Romantics collection and the packaging is simply divine. The rose gold instantly lured me in so I wasn't actually fussed with the type of lipstick, I just wanted the tube. This is shade number 1 of their Intensely Lavish Lipstick and it is the perfect nude. A very "your lips but better" type colour that looks so classy in its packaging. The formula is very creamy but not shiny on your lips so it lasts really well. It's a little well known fact that Kiko cosmetics are made in the same factory as MAC so the quality is seriously good for a fraction of the price.
Another lipstick that is very new to my collection is a MAC classic, MAC Snob. This is probably the most pink nude in my collection - it's so pigmented that I only need a swipe or can risk looking like I was trying to emulate Barbie. The consistency is very creamy and it looks incredible with a more natural makeup look. It looks best with a tan so if you're paler, then you might want to test it in a store first.
And the final lipstick from my nude choices is a budget friendly option and an apparent dupe for the NARS lip pencils - Maybelline's Color Drama in Minimalist. This is essentially a pared down version of snob - far more natural and easy for days where you want something on your lips but nothing too bright.
My lip pencil choice for my nude edit is a slightly pricier MAC Strip Down. It's a very 90s inspired Kylie Jenner esque colour but looks incredible with a smoky eye and just adds an edge - perfect paired with a leather jacket. If MAC is a bit expensive for you, I'm obsessed with Rimmel's Lipliner in Spice and East End Snob - East End Snob being a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk. I wear this lipliner on it's own as it has a great matte finish and lasts all day.
This post has got me feeling all heart eyed emoji! I love a good pinky nude xxx
