Musical Moment ft. Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea is a name that has been circulating in the music world for a good couple of months now and ever since the release of hit single "Work", she has shot to fame. Known for her rather large derriere, she is definitely one to watch especially with her latest single "Change Your Life" rocking the charts worldwide.

"Change Your Life" ft T.I is a song that I have had on my iTunes for less than a week but has already hit over 100 plays. The upbeat tempo is perfect for those dreary mornings on the way to work where it is far too early to be out of bed yet somehow it has to happen.

Iggy brings life to my mornings and I would highly recommend downloading her latest single - lets keep her in the top five!

Music Moment: 8tracks and Obscurity

For a while now, music has become a big part of my life and I thrive off of making playlists with my favourite songs from my new obsessions. Lately, I have discovered 8tracks and it really is an amazing way to discover an assortment of new songs and artists because you can only skip two songs within an hour for licensing reasons. This means you are basically forced to listen to songs and is a really great way to hear new music that is not played on the radio because lets face it, Radio 1 does get a bit tiring.

My current favourite songs are:
  • Two Fingers - Jake Bugg
  • Be Above It - Tame Impala
  • My Number - Foals
  • Champagne Supernova - Oasis
  • Midnight Kiss - The Propellers
  • Sugarstone - Peace
  • It's All Good - The Vaccines
  • Dissolve Me - Alt-J
  • Whispers in the Dark - Mumford and Sons
  • Beach - San Cisco
  • Everlasting Light - The Black Keys
  • Tom The Drum - Palma Violets
  • Eat That up, It's Good for You - Two Door Cinema Club
  • Shuffle - Bombay Bicycle Club
  • Flowers in Your Hair - The Lumineers
  • Love Machine (Girls Aloud Cover) - The Arctic Monkeys
  • Wicked Games - The Weeknd
And my current album love has to be Yeezus by Kanye West. As ghetto as it may seem, I do love me some Kanye and his collaboration album with Jay-Z (Watch The Throne) is also sheer genius.

Music Moment

As cliche as this sounds, I don't know what I would do without music. Now, like any other person in the world, go through phases of my preferred music. It varies so much, my taste in music is very eclectic.

My iTunes library is literally over 32GB large and as a result, I don't really manage to listen to all of my songs so what I do is compile a playlist every month with songs from new albums or recommendations.

They say that you should listen to a song three times before you determine whether you like it or not, so that is what I do. My April playlist is probably one of my favourites so far and I'm pretty sure that 90% of the songs will make it into the May playlist as well!

The songs included are:
  1. Let Her Go (Acoustic) - Passenger
  2. California Daze - Peace
  3. Little Black Submarines - The Black Keys
  4. Falling - Haim
  5. Post Break Up Sex - The Vaccines
  6. Better Than That - Lakyn Heperi
  7. Moving to New York - The Wombats
  8. Impossible - James Arthur
  9. Paradise - Coldplay
  10. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall - Coldplay
  11. Yellow - Coldplay
  12. The Scientist - Coldplay
  13. Fix You - Coldplay
  14. Wonderwall - Oasis
  15. Kiss Me - Ed Sheeran
  16. Drunk - Ed Sheeran
  17. Not Giving In ft. John Newman and Alex Clare - Rudimental
  18. Waiting All Night feat. Ella Eyre - Rudimental
  19. The Importance of Being Idle - Oasis
  20. Morning Glory - Oasis
  21. Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis
  22. You and Me - Lifehouse
  23. If You Could See Me Now - The Script
  24. Ride - SoMo

As you can probably tell, the genre of music in the playlist ranges from indie to rock to pop to alternative and thats what I like about it! It is a playlist that I will happily have on shuffle and as I have been listening to it the entire April, I practically know all the words for each and every song - no, that is not sad at all.

I highly recommend that you all youtube these songs and tell me what you think! I would love to hear your favourite songs at the moment.

Oh! Don't panic if your comment doesn't appear straightaway as I have opted to moderate them before they're posted just so that no one has to read anything nasty!

Love you all x
